Independent coverage doesn’t have to cost much

Sketched Stations exists to document the music, artists, venues, shows and communities happening around us — especially the things fly under the radar of larger publications. You know, the ones that keep firing people.

Most of what we do is meant to remain accessible. I don’t want supporting independent music journalism to require another expensive subscription. They add up quick and I want to keep it simple as grabbing a copy at your favorite record store. Remember LA Record?

Help build what comes next.

Sketched Stations documents independent music through photography, editorials, and conversations with the people making it happen. Your monthly support helps keep that work going—and gives it room to grow.

$3/month — Supporter

Keep independent coverage moving.

Help fund the travel, production, website, and time behind Sketched Sounds show coverage. Your contribution helps us document more artists, tell more stories, and introduce more people to music worth discovering.

For example, a small contribution turns into steady support, which means more possibilities.

Become a Supporter — $3/month

$6/month — Show Builder

Help sustain everything above while building the funding for Sketched Stations own live shows—with artist pay included in the budget from the start.

Your support helps cover the practical costs of bringing people together: venues, sound, promotion, and compensation for the musicians performing.

The goal is to do more than document a thriving music community. It’s to create opportunities that help sustain one. Whether you contribute $3 or $6, you’re helping build an independent outlet that gets the word out by occasionally being that word.

Support Sketched Stations. Help the scene grow.

What does a dollar actually do?

Any amount is helpful, and a sweet spot is an amount you might not miss. Ultimately, it’s skin in the game. You’re keeping it going.

Reader support helps pay for website hosting, equipment, travel to shows, publication costs, photography, audio and video production, interviews, archival work and of course, show building.

It also goes toward expanding the radius. So far, from San Diego -> Santa Barbara -> Bakersfield -> Palm Springs – everywhere in between. Why stop there? The scene in Boise has been growing. Las Vegas has its punks. Help us get out there and see what it’s all about.

The more the readership supports the publication, the more of the publication can belong to its readers.

Your name can become part of Sketched Stations

Supporters who want to participate can have their names included throughout SketchedStations.com in spaces that might otherwise be occupied by advertising.

Your name, tag, brand – any of these can represent your contribution as a tasteful addition to the site.

This space exists because readers helped pay for it.

Is $10/yr better?

Because we’d rather have a large community contributing a little than make meaningful participation something only a few people can afford.

If $3 is comfortable, give $3.

Will $10 for an entire year makes more sense? Please do!

If you can’t contribute right now, keep reading. We’re not stopping anyway.

Read an article. Post a screenshot. Send somebody a band you discovered here. Follow an artist. Go to a show. Tell a friend about Sketched Stations.

You’re still participating.

And if thousands of people eventually decide that what we’re building is worth a dollar?

Those dollars add up to something substantial: an independent publication supported by the community it documents.
